MARRIAGE FOUNDATION

Marriage is a union between a man and his wife, it is the first institution established by God. Marriage is a strong bond between a man and himself (woman) because woman was made out of man. Marriage is a covenant that unites both spouses.

Gen 2:24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” 

Marriage is the beginning of a family. Marriage is not just physical, it’s also a spiritual and emotional union.

IMPORTANCE OF MARRIAGE

1. Marriage allows you to express your love, care and affection.
2. Marriage is a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit and God Himself.
3. Marriage is the institution that compels us to the fellowship of God. Ephesians 5:22 – 23: “Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the savior of the body.
4. Marriage allows you to communicate freely with your spouse"
5. Sincerity and truth should be the bedrock of every marriage.
6. Marriage is fulfilling Godly obligation for human existence.
7. You are considered to be more organized, more matured and more trustworthy anywhere in the world if you are a married person.
8. The union of marriage makes you emotionally balanced.
9. Marriage allows you to experience life in a different dimension.
10. Marriage can save your life; your spouse prayer can attract God’s mercy and conquer the devil’s plan. Abigail did it in the Bible. 1 Samuel 25.

EXPECTATIONS OF MARRIAGE

1. Marriage is for the brave.
2. Marriage is a great decision we must consciously and prayerfully take.
3. Marriage is not about getting what you want at all times. It’s not a dictatorship, its 100% sacrifices.
4. Marriage is principally based on kindness, respect, loyalty, love and high level of tolerance and understanding. 
5. Marriage is total forgiveness of hurts and hate.
6. Marriage is real in all sense, No faking of any kind.
7. Marriage is 100% patience.
8. Marriage is not plain; it’s full of ups and downs. It can be very rough, sometimes it gets disappointing, but in all stay put and remain faithful to God and your spouse.
9. Marriage is not the palace of criticism or abuses, kind words are its pillars.
10. Marriage is not a 24/7 repair factory, it take time to correct some odd character
11.  Your spouse is not supposed to meet your every need; some of those needs have to be taken care of by yourself. The husband is the provider; the wife is the helpmate, when he is not providing enough help him to meet other needs.
12. Marriage is not self-sustaining; it does not thrive by itself. If your entire focus is on your kids then you are making a big mistake, you should focus on your spouse too.
13. Marriage is exciting if you decide to give it your best.
14. Marriage is not without conflict, working out your disappointments and disagreement is the key to a happy home.
15. Have less expectations and more hope in your spouse.
16. Marriage hates disgrace and embarrassment; never expose your spouse weaknesses to friends, relatives or neighbours.
17. The greatest strength of marriage is to pray together and sexually satisfying each other.
18. Marriage is to know someone has your back always. and you reciprocate in such manner
19. Marriage is being seen in your worst mood and times and still loved in all.
20. Marriage is tolerating the things that irritate you.
21. Marriage is making your spouse your number one fan.
22. Marriage is the total submission to God’s call in the ministry of Home.

      In conclusion, marriage is a great gift from God to mankind. It is a blessing in all ramifications. Marriage is beautiful, for in it nations are raised. Marriage is worthy of every sacrifices. Ensure to give yours the best you can.
